Maxon grew up as the son of a sharecropper and experienced racism and discrimination first-hand during the Civil Rights Movement. His book, "A Mind Thing" is considered a Masterpiece by many. Maxon's work examines the true scope of racism and discrimination in America and in the world. He emphasizes that when those in power fail to speak out against these types of injustices, the problem spreads like gangrene within society. Dr. King once said that "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Understanding this quote is the key to helping Blacks learn and appreciate their true history.
